Lighting Practice

Back Light
This is the light that is situated at the back of a character and focuses on the character at a low intensity. As you can see Kane's head and shoulders have been highlighted and the light has provided shadows in the appropriate opposite side of his body.

Fill Light
This form of lighting supports the key light as it fills in the gaps of the shadows that are present. The fill light is set opposite to the key light once again at a 45 degree angle. We can see that the right side of Kane has light shining on him and the left side has shadows. If the key light was to be on aswell during the time this photo was taken, there would be no shadows on Kane.

Key Light
This is the main source of lighting within a scene set at a 45 degree angle. The key light has lit up the left side and provided shadow on the right side. In doing this we have seen how important key lighting is as it provides a good source of illumination within a scene.
